Background & Aims: Educational needs assessment is the first step for finding and assurance of educational performance and improvement, so the goal of this study was the assessing educational needs of nurses in Imam Khomeini hospital based on the technique DACUM Techniques in three fields of attitude, knowledge and skill.
Materials & Methods: The method of research is descriptive survey and from viewpoint of goal is practical one. The statistical population is included nurses of Imam Khomeini Hospital and sample of this research is selected 200 individuals by simple random sampling from Morgan table. Interview and questionnaire were the instruments of this research. Implementation of DACUM Techniques is typically analyzing the work. Analyzing the data was obtained by SPSS Software and descriptive and inferential statistics.
Results: The results show that about attitude field, observance of frugality in the use of equipment, with a mean difference of 0.58 at first priority, and the second priority is placed maintain composure and confidence in the people and events; with a mean difference of 0.52. The first priority in the field of knowledge is familiarity with educational technology and usage new technologies in line with the education and continuous learning, with a mean difference of 0.93, and introduction to research in the field led to the development of new therapies and new therapeutic strategies are with a mean difference of 0.81 in the second priority. In the field of skill, the first priority has been the usage of IT skills with a mean difference of 0.99, and the second priority is familiarity with how to use additional tools, with a mean difference of 0.93. These priorities show the needs that necessary for training.
Conclusion: The results of assessing the educational needs in the three fields of attitude, knowledge and skills showed that nurses need to update and Continuity training.
