INHALATION ANESTHESIA OUTCOMES IN CHILDREN WHO HAD INGUINAL HERNIA REPAIR SURGERY UNDER GENERAL ANESTHESIA: This study evaluated the outcomes of inhalation anesthesia in children who had inguinal hernia repair surgery under general anesthesia. The results showed that children who received soflurane needed more sedatives, such as midazolam or a combination of midazolam and other drugs. Soflurane also caused more nausea and vomiting than some other drugs, such as propofol.
WALKING EXERCISE BENEFITS FOR INSULIN RESISTANCE, LIPID PROFILE AND HEART RATE VARIABILITY IN THE ELDERLY WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES: This study examined the effects of walking exercise on insulin resistance, lipid profile, and heart rate variability in the elderly with type 2 diabetes. The results showed that walking exercise improved insulin resistance and heart rate variability in the elderly with type 2 diabetes. Therefore, walking exercise is suggested as a way to reduce cardiovascular complications in this population.
THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CYCLE THRESHOLD (CT) AND CLINICAL OUTCOMES IN PATIENTS WITH COVID-19: This study tested the hypothesis that the Ct value of SARS-CoV-2 can indicate the severity, outcome, and mortality of COVID-19. The results showed that in patients with COVID-19 who were hospitalized, SARS-CoV-2 viral load was linked to mortality and ICU admission. The results suggested that the Ct value can help identify patients who are at higher risk for severe COVID-19 outcomes.
CHLORHEXIDINE MOUTHWASH VERSUS DINEH HERBAL MOUTHWASH IN PREVENTING VENTILATOR-ASSOCIATED PNEUMONIA IN THE PATIENTS IN THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT: This study compared the effects of chlorhexidine mouthwash and Dinah herbal mouthwash in preventing ventilator-associated pneumonia in patients in the ICU. The results showed that there was no difference between chlorhexidine mouthwash and Dinah mouthwash in preventing ventilator-associated pneumonia in patients who were on mechanical ventilation.
SEVERE COVID-19 AND ITS FACTORS IN PREGNANT WOMEN: A MULTI-CENTER CROSS‐SECTIONAL STUDY: This study assessed the rate and factors of severe COVID-19 among Iranian pregnant women. The results showed that living in urban areas and having higher education level were protective factors.
