Although localized edema is seen in juvenile dermatomyositis, generalized edema has been reported rarely. In this article, we report an 11-year-old girl with juvenile dermatomyositis presenting with generalized edema and classic sign and symptoms of juvenile dermatomyositis. In differential diagnosis of generalized edema, JDM should always be kept in mind. Early diagnosis and treatment of those cases by corticosteroids are important to decrease morbidity.    Â  Address: Pediatric Nephrology Department, Urmia University of Medical Sciences    E-mail: anikibakhsh@yahoo.com     Source: UMJ 2008: 19(2):191 ISSN: 1027-3727   [1] Assistant Professor of Pediatric Nephrology, Urmia University of Medical Sciences (Corresponding Author)   [2] Assistant Professor of Pediatric Nephrology, Urmia University of Medical Sciences   [3] Assistant Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Urmia University of Medical Sciences   [4] Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Urmia University of Medical Sciences   [5] Assistant Professor of Pediatric Oncology, Urmia University of Medical Sciences   SP - 174 EP - 177 AD - KW - Dermatomyositis KW - Generalized edema KW - Children UR - http://umj.umsu.ac.ir/article-1-299-en.html ER -
