پیش‌زمینه و هدف: پرونیشن پا یکی از شایع‌ترین ناهنجاری‌های اندام تحتانی است؛ لذا هدف از پژوهش حاضر مقایسه اثر آنی و طولانی مدت کفی  Arch support بر فعالیت الکتریکی عضلات طی فرود در تکنیک شوت سه گام در هندبالیست‌های دارای پای پرونیت بود.
مواد و روش کار: تحقیق حاضر از نوع نیمه‌تجربی با طرح پیش‌آزمون و پس‌آزمون با گروه کنترل بود. جامعه آماری این تحقیق هندبالیست‌های مرد دارای پای پرونیت بودند. نمونه‌گیری به صورت در دسترس انجام شد و 10 نفر افراد دارای پای پرونیت و 10 نفر سالم انتخاب شدند. کفی کفش مورد استفاده در این پژوهش دارای برجستگی در قسمت لبه داخلی پا (Arch support)، بود. برای اندازه‌گیری فعالیت الکتریکی عضلات اندام تحتانی به وسیله دستگاه الکترومایوگرافی ثبت و توسط برنامه بایومتریک دیتالیت تحلیل شد. همچنین برای تحلیل داده‌ها از آزمون تحلیل واریانس با اندازه‌گیری تکراری و برای بررسی یکسان بودن شرایط اولیه  از آزمون تی مستقل استفاده شد.
یافته‌ها: نتایج نشان داد عضلات دوقلوداخلی (04/0=P)، پهن داخلی (001/0=P) و دوسررانی (089/0=P) در گروه پای پرونیت بعد از 4 هفته استفاده از کفی  Arch support در مقایسه با پیش‌آزمون طی فرود افزایش معنی‌داری داشت. همچنین عضله پهن داخلی (06/0=P) در گروه پای پرونیت در مرحله بلافاصله در مقایسه با مرحله پیش‌آزمون افزایش معنی‌داری داشت. به‌علاوه عضله نیمه وتری (035/0=P) در گروه پای پرونیت بعد از 4 هفته در مقایسه با مرحله بلافاصله افزایش معنی‌داری داشت.
بحث و نتیجه‌گیری: به نظر می‌رسد که استفاده آنی و بلندمدت از کفی Arch support می‌تواند علاوه بر بهبود فعالیت الکتریکی عضلات اندام تحتانی در هنگام پرش و فرود منجر به بهبود تعادل، جذب شوک‌های ناشی از فرود و ثبات مفصل مچ پا در هندبالیست‌های دارای پرونیشن پا شود.
