Physicians need to be instructed about using clinical epidemiology subjects and familiarity with sources like Cochrane or Dare. Aim of this research was assessing the knowledge and use of evidence-based medicine among physicians of some districts.   Materials & Methods : It was a cross-sectional study. The study included 245 general practitioners, specialists and hospitals residents in 1390 in Iran. The data were collected using a questionnaire including information regarding research purposes. The face and content validity and reliability with the approval of authorities was α= 0.8 and were analyzed through Spss software descriptive statistic.   Results : Physicians had average knowledge of EBM. While 149 ones (60. 8%) knew Medline base, less than 10% of them used these bases. Also 165 ones (67. 3% of physicians) knew the expression of meta-analyze but low percentages of them use this expression.   Conclusion : Despite the fact that physicians has average knowledge of evidence based medicine, they don’t use this procedure for answering their questions in treating patients.
