پیش‌زمینه و هدف: مس-61 (61Cu) رادیوایزوتوپی با نیمه‌عمر 33/3 ساعت است که یا با گسیلβ+  (61 درصد) و یا با گیراندازی الکترون (39 درصد) به ایزوتوپ نیکل-61 واپاشی می‌شود. از این رادیوایزوتوپ می‌توان در بررسی خون‌رسانی قلب و تصویربرداری از بافت‌های سرطانی کم اکسیژن با PET استفاده کرد. 61Cu عمدتاً از طریق بمباران هدف‌هایی از جنس روی (Zn)، نیکل (Ni) و کبالت (Co) در سیکلوترون‌های متوسط تولید می‌شود. هدف از این مطالعه، بررسی بهره تولید 61Cu تحت واکنش‌های 64Zn(p,α)61Cu، natZn(p,x)61Cu، 61Ni(p,n)61Cu و natNi(p,x)61Cu در سیکلوترون‌های بیمارستانی بود.
مواد و روش‌ کار: در این مطالعه مداخله‌ای، توابع برانگیختگی این واکنش‌ها توسط کدهای TALYS-1/96 و EMPIRE-3-2-2 محاسبه‌شده و بهترین انرژی با بیشترین سطح مقطع واکنش و کمترین ناخالصی تولیدی، تعیین ‌شد. توان ایستانندگی و ضخامت هدف در انرژی انتخابی توسط کد SRIM-2013 محاسبه شد. بهره تولید 61Cu با انتگرال‌گیری از فرمول بهره تولید در محیط MATLAB به دست آمد و با نتایج حاصل از شبیه‌سازی MCNPX-2/6 و نتایج تجربی مقایسه ‌شد.
یافته‌ها: حداکثر بهره حاصل از کد TALYS برای واکنش‌های 64Zn(p,α)61Cu، natZn(p,x)61Cu، 61Ni(p,n)61Cu و natNi(p,x)61Cu به ترتیب در انرژی‌های 14، 14، 9 و MeV 20 برابر با 29/113، 07/55، 51/498 و MBq/µAh 51/46 بود. حداکثر بهره حاصل از کد EMPIRE برای واکنش‌های 64Zn(p,α)61Cu و 61Ni(p,n)61Cu به ترتیب در انرژی‌های 14 و MeV 9 برابر با 24/183 و MBq/µAh 21/497 بود. حداکثر بهره حاصل از کد MCNPX برای واکنش‌های 64Zn(p,α)61Cu و 61Ni(p,n)61Cu در انرژی‌های 14 و‌ MeV 9 به ترتیب برابر با 73/90 و MBq/µAh 26/470 بود. حداکثر بهره تجربی واکنش‌های 64Zn(p,α)61Cu و 61Ni(p,n)61Cu در انرژی‌های 14 و MeV 9 به ترتیب برابر با 155 و MBq/µAh 32/461 بود.
بحث و نتیجه‌گیری: از مقایسه نتایج حاصل از شبیه‌سازی و تجربی می‌توان دریافت که این نتایج در واکنش 61Ni(p,n)61Cu در انرژی‌ MeV 9 توافق خوبی باهم دارند و این واکنش در این انرژِی، بهترین واکنش برای تولید 61Cu در سیکلوترون‌های بیمارستانی است.
